Understand any SQL Server procedure
in seconds.
AI-powered analysis and documentation for SQL Server stored procedures, views, functions and queries. Generate a business summary, technical breakdown and a Mermaid flowchart from a single paste.
Built exclusively for Microsoft SQL Server.
Not PostgreSQL. Not MySQL. Not Oracle.
SQL Server only.
How it works
Three steps. Done.
Paste your SQL
Stored procedure, view, function, or SELECT: any T-SQL. No connection strings, credentials, or setup required.
Choose a model tier
Pick Auto and let the router score complexity and choose the right AI. Or override manually: Basic, Balanced, Advanced, or Premium.
Get three views instantly
Business summary, Technical breakdown, and Mermaid flowchart stream in seconds. Copy, export to PDF, or share directly.
Features
Everything you need to understand SQL Server
Three views from one paste
Every analysis produces a Business summary, a structured Technical breakdown, and a live Mermaid flowchart, all in a single run.
Cost-optimized AI routing
Auto mode scores your SQL across 12 complexity signals and picks the cheapest AI tier that will produce quality output. Manual override always available.
PDF export, one click
Export any view to a formatted PDF. Share with stakeholders, attach to Jira tickets, or archive alongside your codebase.
8 output languages
Analysis output in English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Polish, Czech, or Slovak. Set once. Every run respects it.
No DB connection needed
Paste the SQL text. That’s it. SQLDoc never touches your database, network, or credentials. Safe for consulting and regulated environments.
Usage & quotas
Live quota bars per model tier with reset countdown. Always know how many analyses you have left and when they replenish.
Example outputs
See the real output before you sign up
Real SQLDoc PDFs for different kinds of SQL Server objects: business summary, technical breakdown and a Mermaid flowchart. No account needed.
Customer orders report
A multi-join SELECT with aggregation and window functions.
ERP invoice posting
A real-world ERP posting procedure with validation and a transaction.
Dimension upsert (MERGE)
A slowly-changing-dimension upsert built on MERGE.
Dynamic pivot report
A procedure that builds and executes dynamic T-SQL.
Row-by-row recalculation
A legacy CURSOR-based recalculation loop.
Audit-trail trigger
An AFTER trigger writing to an audit log.
AI model tiers
The right model for every procedure
Auto mode routes based on complexity. Simple queries stay cheap. Legacy monsters get the premium treatment automatically.
| Tier | Capability | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Basic | Economy | Simple SELECT queries, short views |
| Balanced | Standard | Procedures with JOINs and CTEs |
| Advanced | High-accuracy | Multi-block procedures, window functions, TRY/CATCH |
| Premium | Maximum | Legacy monsters, MERGE, dynamic SQL, CURSORs |
Who it's for
Built for people who live in SQL Server
Paste any procedure and get a full technical breakdown (parameters, objects, logic flow, side effects) in under 10 seconds. Document an entire schema in an afternoon.
- →Procedure, view, function, trigger: any T-SQL object
- →Auto-detects complexity and picks the right model
- →Copy output to Confluence, Notion, or your wiki
The Business tab translates SQL into plain language your stakeholders understand. No SQL knowledge required. Copy directly into your report or slide deck.
- →Plain-English summary for non-technical readers
- →Identifies what the procedure does and when it’s used
- →Output in 8 languages for international teams
Auto-routing picks the right AI tier for each procedure’s complexity. Simple queries cost nothing extra. Monster legacy code gets escalated to Premium automatically.
- →Complexity scored before any model call
- →Automatic escalation if output is thin
- →Mermaid flowchart for visual audits and presentations
Pricing
Simple, transparent pricing
Start free. Upgrade when you need more.
Auto mode routes each query to the cheapest capable tier. You only pay Premium when complex procedures actually need it.

FAQ
Common questions
What SQL dialects does SQLDoc support?
SQLDoc is purpose-built for MSSQL / T-SQL: stored procedures, views, inline functions, triggers, SELECT queries. If it runs on SQL Server, SQLDoc can document it.
Is my SQL code stored or shared?
No. Your SQL is sent to the AI model for analysis and is not persisted beyond the duration of the request. You never provide a database connection, only the text of the query.
What is the difference between the model tiers?
Basic is the fastest, most economical tier, ideal for simple SELECTs and short views. Balanced handles mid-complexity procedures with higher quality. Advanced handles complex multi-block procedures, window functions, and deep nesting. Premium is the highest-capability tier, reserved for legacy code with dynamic SQL, CURSORs, and MERGE statements.
How does Auto mode work?
Auto scores your SQL using 12 heuristic signals: character count, JOIN depth, CTE count, window functions, subquery depth, MERGE, PIVOT, dynamic SQL, CURSOR, TRY/CATCH, temp tables, and CASE expressions. It routes to the cheapest tier that will produce a high-quality result, and escalates automatically if the initial output is too thin.
Can I change the output language?
Yes. Set your preferred language once in account settings. Supported: English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Polish, Czech, and Slovak. All three output tabs (Business, Technical, and Mermaid) respect the setting.
Stop reverse-engineering
SQL Server by hand.
When the author leaves, during an audit, an acquisition or an ERP migration, nobody knows what that procedure really does anymore. Understand any legacy SQL Server procedure instantly. Paste your first procedure free: no sign-up, no credit card, no database connection.
